Background

Kevin retired in June 2021, from a 31-year career with Colorado Springs Utilities Water Treatment, his latter 17 years as Operations Supervisor. During his tenure with CSU, he served in wastewater and water departments attaining State Class A License Certifications via course work through Universities of Colorado and Sacramento. Kevin is a Colorado native. Upon graduation from Ellicott High School, Kevin operated his family’s farm until pursuing his career with CSU. Kevin and his wife, Becky, of 40 years, reside in Ellicott. They have grown twin daughters, and six grandchildren.

Memberships/Community Service

Former member and usher at New Life Church and Church For All Nations. Current member at Highest Praise Fellowship Pueblo. Kevin currently volunteers for Ellicott Food Pantry through Care and Share.

Board Experience

Kevin has been a member of the MVEA Board of Directors since 2018. Kevin has served as Secretary-Treasurer and is currently Board President. Kevin has served on the Education Committee and previously served on the Western United Electric Supply Board. Kevin currently serves on the CARE (Colorado Advocates for Rural Electrification) committee as Committee Chair. He has achieved Credentialed Cooperative Director (CCD), Board Leadership Certification (BLC) and Director Gold (DG). Currently maintaining National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) and Colorado Rural Electric Association (CREA) training. Kevin seeks to utilize these attained governance skills to better serve Mountain View members.

Statement of Position

“As a lifelong member of the Ellicott Community and MVEA District 5, I want to continue to advocate for affordable broadband service throughout our service territory, including renewable energy that includes community solar, EV charging, as well as new beneficial electrification technologies. My desire is to ensure that MVEA continues to provide our members with safe, reliable, efficient, affordable energy, while maintaining environmental stewardship to our members. I believe my expertise in water treatment, supervisory experience, and seven years as Director, along with maintaining NRECA director certifications, positions me to accomplish this goal for our members.”
