2026 Annual Meeting of Members

The Mountain View Electric Association Annual Meeting of Members is not only designed to take care of the important business of the co-op, but the equally important business of building a real sense of co-op community!

This year, the 2026 Mountain View Electric Association Annual Meeting of Members will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Limon Public Schools, 912 Badger Way, Limon, CO 80828. Registration will begin at 5 p.m. The business meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Event Details

Annual Meeting & Director Election Information

The 2026 Annual Meeting will be held for the following purposes:

  • To elect two directors for the Association: One from District 2 and one from District 7 as provided by the Association’s By-Laws and Articles of Incorporation;
  • To approve the minutes of the 2025 Annual Meeting of Members;
  • To report on financial transactions during the 2025 calendar year; and
  • To conduct such other business as may properly come before the meeting or any adjournment or adjournments thereof.

As stated in MVEA’s By-laws, Article III. Section 2. “Directors will be elected for a term to expire at the third annual meeting of members after their election and until their successors are elected and qualified.” This year, voting ballots will be mailed to MVEA members on Tuesday, May 5, 2026. The last date for the return of mailed ballots for the 2026 Annual Meeting will be June 3, 2026.

2026 Mail-In Ballot Dates
  • Mail-in ballots will be mailed to MVEA members on Tuesday, May 5.
  • Mail your ballot back, in the postage-paid green return envelope, by Friday, May 22, to ensure your ballot is received by the deadline.
  • Do not return your ballots to MVEA.
  • Ballots must be received by Survey & Ballot Systems, MVEA’s election organization and verification service, via mail by noon (CST) on Wednesday, June 3.
  • Ballots are mailed directly to Survey & Ballot Systems in Minnesota.
  • Members who attend the Annual Meeting on June 4, who have not already voted by mail, will have an opportunity to vote via floor ballot.
Make Sure Your Vote Counts

Follow the voting directions provided on the mail-in ballot to make sure your vote counts.

  • If the account is in the name of a corporation or political subdivision, indicate title or capacity in which you are acting for the organization.
  • MVEA Director Elections are at-large, allowing for members to vote for directors in any district.
  • Your ballot must have only one candidate selected in each district.
  • Your postage-paid green return envelope must be properly signed.
  • The recipient of the voter packet is the MVEA member(s) authorized to complete the ballot and sign the back of the return envelope. For joint membership, either party may sign.
  • The signature on the green envelope must correspond to the member name(s) on the back of the return envelope.

A longtime local favorite and returning MVEA Annual Meeting caterer, Troy is serving up can’t-miss classics including beef brisket, marinated chicken breast, BBQ beans, coleslaw, pickles, onions, buns, and all the sauce you need—plus a sweet finish with cookies and brownies.

Please note: Limit one meal per guest, with options available while supplies last. Be sure to RSVP if you plan to attend so we can best prepare for food, seating, and activities.

Last Chance $1,000 Scholarship Details

During the 2026 Annual Meeting of Members two Last Chance $1,000 Scholarship winners will be drawn and announced. Interested? Here is what you need to know:

  • The scholarships are for the 2026 – 2027 school year.
  • Applicants must be 2026 high schools graduates.
  • Applicants must be enrolled, or plan to enroll, to attend the Fall 2026 school semester.
  • Applicants must be U.S. citizens and dependents of an MVEA member.
  • Student must be present at the 2026 Annual Meeting of Members to win.
