Grassroots Network

Grassroots is simply about members using their voices together.

The Grassroots Network is a group of members who want to stay informed and help speak up on issues that impact electric cooperatives and the communities we serve. When members come together, our shared voice is stronger and more effective.

As a member-owned electric cooperative, MVEA has a responsibility to keep open lines of communication with elected officials and decision-makers. Grassroots efforts help ensure they understand how policies and legislation affect local co-ops, reliable electricity, and the quality of life in our communities.

Our industry faces unprecedented changes. From affordability and wildfire mitigation to new technologies, growing energy needs, and the protection of cooperative service territories, decisions made at the State Capitol directly impact how MVEA serves you.

That’s why MVEA launched our Grassroots Network in 2023. The network gives members an opportunity to stay informed on legislative and policy issues affecting their cooperative, their electric service, and their communities.

By joining the Grassroots Network, you are not committing to advocacy or political action. You are simply raising your hand to stay informed. When an issue arises that could impact MVEA or our members, we will reach out with clear information and easy ways to get involved if you choose. Participation is always optional.

MVEA will continue working to ensure decision-makers understand how their choices affect the people and communities we serve. As an MVEA member, you can help strengthen that voice.
