Background

I am a U.S. Naval Academy graduate and served as a Marine Corps officer. I attended Leadership Pikes Peak and University of Virginia’s Darden Graduate School for Managing Critical Resources. I have held leadership roles at Colorado Springs Utilities(CSU), Duke Energy, and Consolidated Edison. In these positions, I led large teams managing multimillion-dollar budgets. At CSU, I held leadership roles across customer service, energy, and water services. In Energy, I oversaw commodities, energy trading, and served on a natural gas board. In Water, I served as General Manager overseeing water and wastewater planning, water resources, engineering, conservation, and asset management, and I was involved in inter-utility affairs and emergency management. Currently, I am the President of the Board of Directors for Donala Water & Sanitation District, one of MVEA's largest customers. We deliver safe, reliable, affordable water and wastewater services.

As an MVEA member for 24 years, I have attended MVEA’s Board meetings and events. I am familiar with the topics, people, and culture.

My wife, Terry, and I have been married 48 years.  We are the proud parents of two successful sons and are blessed with three wonderful grandchildren. We enjoy traveling, the arts, and hiking the Rockies.

Experience

I have served on numerous boards and committees, representing utilities and western water. I was appointed by Colorado Governors to the Interbasin Compact Committee. Over the years, I have been involved with the Pikes Peak Military Care Network, Colorado Water Congress, Colorado’s Special District Association, World Affairs Council, and the Gettysburg Leadership Experience.
