MVEA Welcomes Dustin Smith as Vice President of Member Engagement

Falcon, CO, May 6, 2026 – Falcon, CO, May 6, 2026 – Mountain View Electric Association is pleased to announce Dustin Smith as its new Vice President of Member Engagement. Bringing more than a decade of experience in the energy industry, Smith joins MVEA with a strong background in member services, government affairs, and strategic communications.

Smith most recently served as Director of External Affairs and Stakeholder Relations at Southwest Power Pool, where he led multidisciplinary teams, supported executive leadership, and strengthened stakeholder engagement across a large regional transmission organization. His career has been defined by a commitment to operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and improving the member experience through transparent and effective communication.

In his new role, Smith will focus on strengthening relationships with members, enhancing communication strategies, and ensuring that MVEA continues to deliver a high-quality, member-focused experience. During his first year, he plans to prioritize listening and engagement – meeting with members, employees, and community stakeholders to better understand their needs and expectations.

Originally from Arkansas, Dustin and his wife, Christi, recently relocated to Colorado and are excited to become part of the local community. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling, reading, and creating pen-and-ink artwork.
