MVEA Mourns the Loss of Board Member Milton Mathis


Limon & Falcon, CO, April 30, 2025 – Mountain View Electric Association (MVEA) today announced with great sadness that Mr. Milton Mathis, a longtime MVEA board member, passed away on April 29, 2025. Mr. Mathis was elected to the board in June of 1987 and served as Secretary-Treasurer and Chairman of the Education committee.

Additionally, Mr. Mathis served on the Board of Directors of Western United Electric Supply Corporation during his tenure on the MVEA Board. Through NRECA, he earned Certified Cooperative Director, Board Leadership and Director Gold certifications, the highest level of cooperative governance certifications.

Commenting on Mr. Mathis’s passing, MVEA’s President of the Board, Kevin Paddock, stated, “Milt was an invaluable member of our Board of Directors, and we will forever be grateful for his dedication and service to this cooperative and our members. He will be greatly missed. We extend our deepest condolences to Milt’s family.”

“Milt’s unwavering support and belief in our mission at MVEA helped shape this cooperative into what it is today,” said Joe Martin, Assistant Secretary of the Board. “He deeply loved MVEA, and we’ll work hard to continue his legacy.
