MVEA AND ELBERT COUNTY PARTNER FOR MULCH MADNESS:
A FREE WILDFIRE MITIGATION EVENT
Elbert & Falcon, CO, March 19, 2025 – As wildfire season approaches, Mountain View Electric Association (MVEA) is committed to helping members reduce fire risks. In partnership with Elbert County, MVEA is hosting Mulch Madness—a free community event where members can drop off tree limbs, branches, and brush to be mulched onsite.
Event Details & Information:
Date: Saturday, April 5, 2025
Time: 10 A.M. – 2 P.M.
Location: Elbert County Fairgrounds (95 Ute Ave., Kiowa, CO 80117)
Accepted Materials:
Tree limbs, branches, and brush (maximum length: 6 feet, maximum diameter: 8 inches)
Not Accepted:
Stumps, roots, weeds, grass, lumber, trash, metal, screws, wire, or bulk pine needles
Important Information:
Limited unloading assistance will be available.
Mulch loading is self-service, so bring necessary tools.
Proper vegetation management plays a critical role in wildfire mitigation. By clearing excess debris from your property, you help protect your home and the community. Attendees are also welcome to take home mulch for their own use. Join us in this effort to create a safer, more fire-resilient community.
