Tree Trimming
Tree Trimming & Vegetation Management
At Mountain View Electric Association, keeping trees and brush away from electric lines and equipment is essential for safety, reliability, and wildfire prevention.
When vegetation comes into contact with power lines, it can cause power outages, sparks, fires, or even serious injury. Poorly managed trees are also a leading cause of wildfires and electrical accidents, especially when people climb or trim trees near overhead lines.
That’s why MVEA follows strict industry best practices for vegetation management and works year-round to keep our rights-of-way clear. It’s a proactive approach that helps ensure safe, reliable power delivery for all our members. MVEA will clear cut on request.

When Planting Near Power Lines…
MVEA requires that trees be planted away from all vaults and above-ground equipment. At maturity, a tree must maintain a minimum 20-foot diameter clearance around our equipment to ensure access. Only grass should be allowed to grow underneath power lines.
