MVEA’s annual scholarship application period is now open! Your future is full of possibilities, and MVEA is here to help you power what’s next.

At MVEA, we believe investing in education means investing in the future of the communities we serve. That’s why we’re proud to offer scholarship opportunities to help students pursue their educational and career goals, whether that means attending a four-year university, community college, vocational or technical school, or entering the electric utility industry.

For the 2026–2027 scholarship year, we’ve made some exciting improvements to our program to make applying easier and opportunities more accessible than ever!

Our scholarship program is growing with you! We’ve expanded eligibility and simplified the application process to give more students the opportunity to receive financial support for their education.

What’s new?

• Current College Students Can Apply! Scholarship opportunities are no longer limited to graduating high school seniors. Eligible students already pursuing higher education can now apply.
• No SAT or ACT Scores Required! We’ve eliminated standardized test score requirements, making the application process simpler and more accessible.
• Didn’t Receive a Scholarship Before? Try Again! Students who previously applied but weren’t selected are encouraged to reapply if they meet the current eligibility requirements.
• Multiple Educational Pathways! Whether you’re pursuing a traditional degree, learning a skilled trade, or preparing for a career in the electric utility industry, there’s an opportunity worth exploring.

Scholarships for Every Path

MVEA offers a variety of scholarship opportunities designed to support different educational interests and career aspirations and this year we’ll be giving away $28,000 in scholarships!

• MVEA Academic Scholarships | Ten $1,000 scholarships supporting students pursuing higher education.
• Vocational & Technical Scholarships | Eight $1,000 scholarships for students pursuing hands-on careers through vocational schools, technical programs, and skilled trades.
• Power Lineworker Scholarships | Three $2,000 scholarships for students pursuing training and careers as electric lineworkers.
• Power Engineer Scholarship | One $2,000 scholarship for a student pursuing an engineering education with an interest in the electric power industry.
• Last Chance Scholarships | Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to students at MVEA’s Annual Meeting of Members. More details will be provided in May 2027.
