At Mountain View Electric Association, our dedicated team of lineworkers build and maintain more than 6,400 miles of energized line in a 5,000 square mile service territory. I have said this before, but it bears repeating: This is a big job — and one they do exceptionally well. MVEA is blessed to have an experienced team of true professionals keeping the lights on for those we serve. They deserve all the appreciation and accolades that come their way.

Every year, Mountain View Electric Association’s Board of Directors and Executive Leadership Team meets to develop a strategic plan that includes priorities to better serve our growing co-op membership.

Our dedicated MVEA linemen—Nathan Ortiz, Levi Suarez, John Webb, and Jon Weitz—are bringing light and hope to Navajo families in Arizona through the transformative Navajo Light Up program, connecting homes to electricity for the very first time.

June is a beautiful time in Colorado as the ever-changing weather of May gives way to the sunny days we expect of the early summer months. It’s also a good time to share some energy-saving resources to help prepare for the heat of July and August.

Building on the strong foundations created through 83 years of fiscally responsible leadership and sound business practices, in  2023 we focused on six strategic priorities: safety; reliability and resiliency; affordability; member engagement; employee relations; and technology and innovation.

The Big Sandy School District in Simla, CO marked a significant milestone in their commitment to sustainability with a ribbon-cutting ceremony for their three electric school buses and the accompanying charging infrastructure.

The Clean Energy Innovator Fellowship (CEIF) program, administered by the Department of Energy, is designed to support recent graduates and energy professionals in implementing critical initiatives aimed at decarbonizing the power system, electrifying transportation and industry, and promoting resilience and inclusivity in the U.S. energy landscape.

As a tribute to the dedication and service of lineworkers, the Colorado General Assembly recognized Colorado Lineworker Appreciation Day as April 18, 2024.
